Entry taken from The Great Rock Discography
Formed: Wyndham, Cumbria, England... 1982 by DUNNERY, DALTON, NOLAN and BECK, although they split in 1984 when DUNNERY moved to a squat in Peckham, London. He was soon joined by the others, who after a gig met AR man Martin Mayhead, who secured them a deal with Virgin in 1985. After a tour supporting GO WEST, they issued their debut 45 'ALL IN RED', but this flopped. Their next in Jun '86 'CALLING ALL THE HEROES' , became a UK top 10 Smash, and was quickly followed by a Top 40 LP 'THE BIG LAD IN THE WINDMILL' They scored with minor hits from then on, but surprised many critics by having 2 further Top 50 albums. Style: A unique blend of GENESIS/YES type proggesive , keyborad orientated rock, which although slightly pop at the outset, became more adventurous and self-indulgent from 1988. Songwriters : DUNNERY lyrics/ group compostions, with no cover versions. Trivia : STEVE HILLAGE produced 1988 single 'MIDNIGHT', and ROGER DEAN (former LP artist for YES etc) designed their 1989 album 'EAT ME IN ST LOUIS'. Around the same time it was recorded, DUNNERY was called on by his heroes, to guest on their ANDERSON, BRUFORD, WAKEMAN and HOWE (aka YES) album. Not to be outdone, NOLAN featured on TONY BANKS 'Bankstatement' Album.
Recommended: ONCE AROUND THE WORLD (1988 cd)/ EAT ME IN ST LOUIS (1989 cd).

I have retained as far as possible the orginal text and format.
