Hello Again!

If any of you brought a copy of "SOUNDS" a few weeks ago you would have noticed that the back page contained a picture of yours truly with my brand new invention. Well, I've named it the "Tapboard" for the simplest reason that you tap the strings with your fingers as opposed to plucking them. The idea came about when we were doing some demos for "ROSE MARIE" last year. I had my guitar across my lap for convenience, whilst controlling the 8 track tape machine we use to record, and I just started tapping the strings with my fingers. i soon came to realise that as fast as I could do a drum roll was the speed I could play runs on the guitar neck. And so was born the solo in "ROSE MARIE" which for anyone who is interested is doubled.

The Tapboard has two necks, stuck together, which are slightly delved to make the tapping easier. It has 12 strings with an option to upgrade it to 24 strings, which in effect would make it a twelve string twelve string.

It has clavinet pickups, an egg timer and a shower hose!

It is impossible to explain any techniques, as you would have to be there. So, watch our for my new baby on our next tour!
