Hello Everyone,
Yes, it's another 'letter from America'.
We are all here in sunny California to work on our new album. When we arrived we decided to continue writing more songs before we actualy began recording. We are yet to decide on a producer, and I'm afraid that we don't expect the album to be released until the end of the year. Those of you who have been with us right from the start, and really even those who are recent converts, must be aware of how important the album is. We need to start happening in America, and so regardless of how long this album takes to make, we have to make sure that it is right. We all feel it is pointless just recording an album and hoping it will break us over here. We need to be as sure as we possibly can, and if that means more and more writing then that is what we will do. So, all I can say is, please bear with us, and be patient, and be assured that we expect this album to be our best yet!
I was going to give you a possible track listing for the new album in this letter, but as we are still writing there isn't much point, as at this stage we just don't know what will be on the album. Just incase you are wondering, we havn't decided on a title yet either.
This all seems a bit negative, doesn't it, as I'm sure you were all hoping for news of a release date and a tour. I'm sorry for that, but I hope you all understand our reasons.
Onto a happier note. The Spring 90 tour was a great success, in fact it was by far our most successful to date. We all had a great time, as I hope you did too. Judging by your response you certainly appeared to be having fun! In particular, it was brilliant to play in Glasgow again after a two year break - you people really dud make that an extra-special gig for us. We were all totally blown away by your very positive response, and we would all like to express our sincerest thanks to all who were there. We are all looking forward immensly to our next jaunt north of the border! In fact, we are all eager to be out on the road again after being subjected to all the sunny weather out here! Sorry folks, only joking, we wouldn't want you to get envious or anything like that!
I'm going to wrap this letter up now, and hand you over to Maggie, as there isn't much else i can say, and she wants her turn!
Take good care, and we'll be in touch soon!
Frank
