Francis Dunnery taps into cyber 24

Feb 8 1996

3:30 p.m., Thursday, February 8th. New York. "If you don't have a computer in this day and age, you're finished!" declares Francis Dunnery. Today, Francis became part of the massive "24 Hours In Cyberspace" online project -- an attempt to document the digital frontier from around the globe. Francis was photographed with his new musical invention, the tap board, by digital photographer Frank Micelotta -- one of 100 top photojournalists assigned to tell the human stories behind the technology. Micelotta's photos were edited on the spot and delivered instantly to the Cyber 24 site in San Francisco, to accompany RealAudio clips of Francis' new single "The Way Things Are." Francis bought his first computer -- an Atari -- back in the early 70's. Today he's a dedicated 'net surfer and Mac man, but adds: "You have to keep asking yourself whether this stuff is making your life easier? And if it's not -- forget it -- next!"
